About
The Founding Act of the Spanish Society of Sciences and Technology of Refrigeration (SECYTEF) was signed during the celebration of the First Spanish Congress of Science and Technology of Refrigeration (on April 2002, Polytechnic University of Cartagena), which involved the participation of more than 180 researchers from different research groups 18 various Spanish universities and R & D Spanish (CSIC, Autonomous Communities, and enterprises). Following appropriate administrative procedures, this Society was legally formalized in November 2002.
As stated in Article 2 of its Statute, the objectives of the Society are to promote and encourage national and international interest in the scientific research, in the dissemination of research results and in the scientific training and technical in all branches of Science and Technology of Refrigeration, by the following means:
- Developing a better knowledge and understanding among people and institutions related to research in Science and Technology of Refrigeration.
- Participation in all activities related to the Science and Technology of Refrigeration.
- The dissemination of research results in this area through periodic or non-periodic publications and other media that are created convenient.
- The regular organization of a National Congress of the Society and other specific meetings provide a forum for presentation and public discussion of research on the various aspects of Science and Technology of Refrigeration.
- Establish relationships with other national and international societies similar, en particular con el International Institute of Refrigeration.
During this Congress it was agreed that the Society had its headquarters at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, and it was managed, at this early stage of implementation, by the following Board:

It should be noted that the main area in which this company wants to develop its activities is the Scientific and Technical Research and University Education. Thus, it should be understood that this company wants to be complementary in their objectives with respect to other existing national partnerships in the cold, as they are, for instance, ATECYR, ACTECYR, ANEFRYC, etc., and plan to have a special relationship of good understanding with all currently existing partnerships in this area.
